The Scottish Society of Ottawa was thrilled to celebrate New Years Eve with you in-person and in the comfort of your home virtually! Our 11th celebration of Hogman-eh! – the annual Scottish-style New Year’s Eve celebration and the largest Hogmanay celebration outside of Scotland! - was a huge success. Advance tickets sales of 1,600 and another 400 at the door attest to the popularity of the event. The Lansdowne Park venue was alive with brilliant entertainment: Mariner’s Curse, The Mudmen, and Alan Frew Band (of Glass Tiger)! The evening was capped off with a fabulous fireworks show at midnight. This year our Highland dancers included eight-time World Champion Marielle Lespérance, as well as 2 pipes and drum bands, Ottawa Highlanders Pipes and Drums, Ottawa Caledonian Pipes and Drums, a Kids Zone, Scottish historical booths, a Climate Café®, food and drink, and of course there was Scotch whisky!
