Members Gather at the Royal Oak

It was a particularly lively day in the neighbourhood, with Taste of Wellington and the Parkdale Market bringing plenty of people out and about, and the sunshine making it a perfect September afternoon. About 15 members joined us at the pub, some bringing along books about Scotland or works by Scottish authors and poets to share and pass around the table.

Over the next couple of hours, we exchanged stories and photographs, talked about family histories and Scottish lineage, and tossed around a few ideas for future Society activities. Mostly, though, it was simply an opportunity to sit together, talk, laugh and get to know one another a little better.

Whether we raised a pint, a glass of water, or something in between, we raised it to good company, shared connections and a very enjoyable afternoon.
