Welcome to the Scottish Society of Ottawa
In 2026, the Scottish Society of Ottawa celebrates its 14th anniversary, marking more than a decade of bringing Scottish culture, community, and celebration to the National Capital Region.
Founded in 2012, the Society connects people with a shared interest in Scotland through vibrant events, education, and cultural exchange. From music, dance, and language to history, literature, and food, we celebrate Scotland as both a rich heritage and a living, modern culture.
We are an inclusive, volunteer-driven, not-for-profit organization guided by curiosity, creativity, integrity — and above all, a sense of fun. Whether your connection to Scotland is ancestral, cultural, or simply a love of the traditions, you are welcome here.

UPCOMING EVENTS
Our winter calendar is underway, and two much-loved traditions are just around the corner.
The Gala Burns Supper & Ceilidh is one of our most popular events of the year, bringing together poetry, music, fine food, and dancing in honour of Scotland’s National Bard. Tickets are limited and this event traditionally sells out, so we encourage you to secure yours early.
The Great Canadian Kilt Skate returns soon as well — a family-friendly celebration of winter, community, and a bit of Scottish flair on ice. Kilts encouraged (but not required).
