What happens when you introduce two slightly irreverent “likely laddies” with a bucket of salty Scots verse to a highbrow, high-end whisky tasting on St Andrew's Day?
You get a perfect pairing!
Chris Brown (not the rapper) and Brunty (the “Banksy of Poetry”) team up with Emmett P Hossack, whisky connoisseur, to present " Whisky and Verse" to celebrate: St Andrew, “the water of life,” the Caledonian spirit and regale, 'a’ things Scots!'
The Scottish Society of Ottawa (SSO) invites you to a carefully curated selection of Brunty and Brown's accessible, Scots-themed poetry paired with the eminent Emmett P Hossack' s inimitable tongue-tingling selection of the very finest of Scots whiskies.
While away a Sunday afternoon at Lexington's on Richmond Road in Ottawa's trend-setting West End with some salty, humorous, quirky, Celtic verse delivered by a couple of fine vintage poets along with the SSO’s very own whisky ambassador, Emmett P Hossack, as he presents for your tasting pleasure a bespoke selection of spectacular new distillations.
In addition, all ticket holders will receive an original copy of Brunty's most recent book of poems, 'A Brave Gulp’, signed and dedicated by the author himself.
And if that's not enough - along with the whisky and verse there will be an equally mouth-watering array of food, thoughtfully prepared by the culinary and gastronomic expertise of The Lexington's very own master chef.
Book your tickets as soon as possible (the event tends to sell out quickly) for this heartfelt, heart-warming Celtic get-together, as indeed, it promises a unique pairing and perfect blend on a cold brisk November afternoon!
Advance ticket notification will be going out to SSO members soon.
