The Scottish Society of Ottawa is pleased to offer Online Scottish Gàidhlig (Gaelic) classes for both beginners and more advanced students throughout the year. Currently there are both Level 1 beginner classes and level 2 intermediate being conducted as part of the fall session. We hope to offer additional classes starting in 2024.

Level 1 is for learners with no knowledge or completely new to Gàidhlig. This workshop will work on developing core concepts of the language. Online classes, via zoom, will take place Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 pm October 12th to November 23rd.

Level, 2 is for learners with some understanding and rudimentary skills with the language, particularly for those who have taken SSO level 1, or some prior basic study of Gaelic. Online classes, via Zoom, will take place Friday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 pm October 13th to November 24th.

The language teacher is Randaidh (Gil) Waugh, P/T Professor of Gàidhlig, University of Ottawa; PDQB-Certified Bagpipe Tutor, Westend Bagpiping Studio; Musician and Composer @Fiùran, and Novelist (Gil Waugh). Randy is an engaging and knowledgeable teacher, and classes are always a lot of fun!
