The Ottawa Edition
The 10th edition of the Annual Great Canadian Kilt Skate is coming to Ottawa on February 18th 2024!
Since 2015, the Scottish Society of Ottawa has helped Canadian cities and communities celebrate Scottish heritage in a way that is uniquely Scottish, and undeniably Canadian. We take to the ice in kilts!
The 2024 Ottawa edition is sure to be a fun time for all. Join us at the Lansdowne Park Skating Court on February 18th whether you’re a pro skater or a beginner, and whether you own a kilt or just some tartan! There will a performance by the Ottawa Celtic Choir, bagpipes and the Mayor and other dignitaries will celebrate the declaration of Kilt Skate Day in the Capital. Also joining the SSO will be the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society and members of the Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa (Duke of Edinburgh's Own).
Boccato Gelato & Crepes will be providing free hot chocolate to all kilt skaters in attendance as well as Kilt Skate Cookies - perfect for warming up those chilly, kilted legs! Afterwards, Kilt Skaters can gather at Milestones to warm up with a drink and a Ceilidh.
