Great Canadian Kilt Skate: Midland
Home Edition
This year, skaters in the Midland-Penetanguishene region join skaters across Canada for the 8th annual Great Canadian Kilt Skate. We’re celebrating Scottish heritage in a unique way: by taking to the ice in tartan and kilts!
Because of the public health protocols, rather than hosting a community event, Midland will host a “Home Edition” kilt skate where individuals, families and small groups hold their own socially-distanced kilt skate. “Our faces may be masked, but our knees will be bare.” Find a community rink, frozen pond , river, or lake and join in the kilt skate phenomenon!
It’s time to #TartanUp for the 2022 kilt skate season!
Don’t forget to POST YOUR PHOTOS AND VIDEOS to your social media accounts using #kiltskate2022MID #OttScot #TartanUp #ScotlandIsNow/. Or email your photos and videos to kiltskatemedia@ottscot.ca.
Help Midland become the 2022 Kilt Skate capital of Canada! The winning city is determined by the number of participants, the number of submitted photos and videos, media pick up, and general promotion.
Get active, celebrate your Scottish heritage in kilts and tartans, and join the fun!
