Écosse, a popular Ottawa-area band, is comprised of musicians Bobby Watt, James Stephens, Duncan Gillis, Greg Brown, Rob Graves and Pat Maher. Bobby Watt is one of Canada’s finest traditional singers, a Scottish-born master stonemason and ex-police scuba diver with a voice to melt the hardest heart.

For more than a decade, sisters Erin and Colleen Searson have been bringing their unique blend of Scottish, Celtic, East Coast and Ottawa Valley-style music to the world. Energetic dancing, spirited fiddling and gorgeous harmonies are on the menu! The sisters perform on a variety of instruments throughout their live show which includes Colleen on fiddle, vocals and Ottawa Valley Step Dancing while Erin performs on piano, vocals, Ottawa Valley Step Dancing and tenor guitar. Rounding out the live show is bass/guitar player Fraser Gauthier, who has studied at Humber College and Capilano University, and Dave MacDougall, a drummer and percussionist who brings creativity and groove to a variety of styles of music.

GREAT SCOT! KIDZONE

5:00 – 7:00 p.m.Between 5:00 – 7:00 pm, there will be an array of activities for the wee ones, including face painting and Scottish-themed arts and crafts, as well as performances by Sherry’s School of Highland Dance and Ardbrae Scottish Country Dancers of Ottawa.  Moves learned during the audience participatory dances will be put to good use when Searson takes the stage at 7:05 pm!

Join the musicians in welcoming Canada’s 150 with Auld Lang Syne inside …and then join your fellow revelers in the sights and sounds of FIREWORKS outside right after Auld Lang Syne to end the evening.
