The Great Canadian Kilt Skate: Calgary Home Edition

Will there be an Eighth Annual Great Canadian Kilt Skate this winter at Olympic Plaza? We’re still awaiting word from the City. Stay tuned for further details.

In the meantime, let’s get out on our own to celebrate Scottish culture with bare knees and ice. Why not take part in our “Home Edition” kilt skate? It’s the kilt skate that we can enjoy whether or not there’s a pandemic.

All through January and February skaters across Canada are taking to the ice in their tartans and kilts. As individuals and small, socially-distanced groups they’re heading to the ODR, the backyard rink, the pond down the road or the river you can skate away on.

Send pictures of you and your family and friends kilt skating to: #TartanUp #kiltskate2022SCGY #ScotlandIsNow or email them to kiltskatemedia@ottscot.ca.

Help Calgary win this year’s competition to be named the Kilt Skate Capital of Canada!

Get active, celebrate your Scottish heritage in kilts and tartans, and join the fun!
