Vice chair
The role of Vice Chair is an important one, from supporting executive members to corresponding with the public.
The Vice Chair plays a strong leadership role on the Executive and Board, working collaboratively with the Chair and all Board members to achieve the mission of the SSO. S/he steps in for the Chair at Board meetings and public appearances if the Chair is not available. A leader and team player, the Vice Chair aims to create energy, enthusiasm and collaboration within SSO, the membership and Scottish Canadian community. The Vice Chair holds a deep passion for Scottish culture, and not for profit, community building and/or a business background will help lead the SSO to its next stage of growth and development. The Vice Chair confers on plans and commitments with the Chair and Board members. Time commitment: 15-20 hours per month with the busiest season in the late fall to early winter.
development director
The Development Director is fundamental to ensuring the financial viability of the SSO by spearheading and managing our sponsorship and fundraising efforts.
The Development Director must be knowledgeable about the local businesses and corporation sponsorship opportunities as well as local, Provincial, and Federal Government Grant opportunities.
