Gala Burns Supper & Ceilidh - In Person and Virtual!
The Scottish Society of Ottawa is pleased to announce its annual Gala Burns Supper & Ceilidh on January 23, 2021, and we have gone virtual!!!
Our Burns Supper is the crown jewel of a two-month long festival entitled the OttScott Festival. Our festival will culminate in a prestigious Gala Burns Supper & Ceilidh with the All Saints Event Centre, 330 Laurier Avenue East, is our primary host venue with a virtual connection to our guests not able to attend in person.
A traditional Burns Supper will be delivered to those not attending in person. Entertainment, music and traditional speeches will be part of our virtual offering. Ticket pricing to follow.
This Robbie Burns Supper is more than just the traditional meal and speeches, we have entertainment, singing and dancing into the wee hours- a gala celebration like no other!
The entertainment line-up is as follows:
1) Traditional speeches by various VIPs and dignitaries including Graham McTavish who will be giving the Immortal Memory Speech
2) Pipes and Drums of the Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa (Duke of Edinburgh’s Own)
3) Ottawa Highland Dancing Association
4) Fridge full of Empties - our ceilidh band
5) Ernie Fraser and Friends – the best in traditional Cape Breton fiddle music
The Gala Burns Supper & Ceilidh is one of the pillars of the OttScot Festival which includes St. Andrew’s Day Whisky tasting, Hogman-eh! on New Year’s Eve, The Great Canadian Kilt Skate, and the apogee of a two-month long celebration of all things Scottish, the Gala Burns Supper & Ceilidh Event.
