Brunty all dressed!
By Chris Brown
Brunty, “The Banksy of Poetry” is coming to The Colonnade in Ottawa.
It’s set to be a unique event that complements one of Ottawa’s favourite pizza places with Brunty’s prime rhymes from his new book: A Brave Gulp.
Eat some Pizza, digest some poetry, raise a toast to both!
The last time our regional Celtic poet Brunty performed in Ottawa it was at Deacon Brodie’s in January 2023. High time that this ‘pub-favourite;’ returned to The Capital and regaled us once more with his unique blend of wordplay and street-accessible poetry.
In the last two years, Brunty has performed his compositions with readings in Toronto, Montreal, Vankleek Hill, Hudson and of course his beloved Scotland, in those special wee fishing villages dotted along the coast of Fife.
Of course, all this traveling and readings has triggered a brand-new canon of work entitled A Brave Gulp, recently published as his follow up to Shooting the Sh**t (2016).
So, if you like your pizza all dressed and your Scot Poets too, don’t miss this one-time opportunity to enjoy both, at Ottawa’s iconic Colonnade Pizza on Saturday March 22nd at 2:30pm.
Now that St. Paddy’s and the Ides of March are over for another year, come out and purchase a pizza and Brunty will serve up an accompaniment of heartfelt, inspirational and entertaining poems from his long awaited second volume of poetry … and will happily sign each copy sold.
