TARTAN DAY 2023

SOSPB Marching onto Parliament Hill

By Dave Johnston

April 6th is Tartan Day which was chosen as it the date on which the Declaration of Arbroath was signed in 1320. As any good Scot knows, Tartan is a woolen cloth woven in one of several patterns of plaid, especially of a design associated with a particular Scottish clan. Tartan weaves clans, and Scots, and even the world. The One World Together tartan was designed in honour of our planet and our home and is a reminder that the sustainability of our planet is the responsibility of us all.

To celebrate Tartan Day the Sons of Scotland Pipe Band will perform on Parliament Hill Sunday, April 23 from 12noon until 1pm. There will be Pipes and Drums and dancers and of course lots of Tartan. For details and to register got their website
